Logan HVAC Maintenance Plans: Comfort Club Tiers

The Velox Comfort Club — Maintenance Plans for Cache Valley Homeowners

The Velox Comfort Club is the structured maintenance plan program offered to Cache Valley homeowners who want predictable, ongoing HVAC care rather than reactive service when equipment fails. The reasoning behind the program: equipment that receives consistent annual tune-ups lasts longer, operates more efficiently, and fails less frequently. Equipment that gets attention only when it stops working accumulates wear, develops correctable issues that go uncorrected until they become expensive failures, and represents a worse long-term cost trajectory than the equivalent equipment under maintenance. The Comfort Club exists for homeowners who’ve recognized this pattern and want to invest in equipment longevity rather than pay reactively for emergencies. Three tier options accommodate different home sizes, equipment complexity, and budget preferences. The pricing structure aims to be honest: maintenance plans aren’t insurance against catastrophic equipment failure (which insurance products like Cinch or American Home Shield cover differently), but they substantially reduce the frequency and cost of equipment problems through proactive service.

What All Tiers Include

Every Comfort Club tier includes these baseline elements:

  • Biannual tune-ups — a fall heating tune-up (typically scheduled September–October) and a spring cooling tune-up (typically scheduled April–May). Each tune-up follows the standard Velox scope documented in the HVAC Tune-Up page: combustion analysis on heating equipment; refrigerant pressure check on cooling equipment; filter inspection; safety device verification; cleaning of accessible components; written documentation of findings and any developing concerns.
  • Priority dispatch on service calls — Comfort Club members move ahead of non-member customers in dispatch queue during peak demand periods. During Cache Valley winter cold snaps and summer heat waves when service demand exceeds capacity, this can mean same-day vs. next-day response, or 2-hour vs. 6-hour response on emergency calls.
  • Repair labor discount — 10–20% labor discount on repair work depending on tier, applied to any service calls beyond the included tune-up scope. The discount applies during the calendar year of plan membership.
  • Parts discount — 10–15% parts discount on equipment, components, and consumables purchased through Velox during plan membership.
  • No overtime charge during after-hours emergencies — standard 1.5x labor overtime multiplier waived for after-hours emergency calls during plan membership.
  • Filter inventory — we track your filter sizes and replacement schedule; reminders provided ahead of each replacement; filters available at cost-plus pricing or delivered (tier-dependent).
  • Equipment service history maintained — all service work documented in your Velox account; transferable to new homeowner during property sale; useful for warranty claim documentation.
  • Annual indoor air quality review — the fall tune-up visit includes a brief IAQ assessment with recommendations on filter selection, humidity management, and any other concerns relevant to the home’s specific situation.

Standard Tier — The Entry Point

The Standard tier is designed for homeowners with relatively simple residential HVAC (single furnace, single AC, basic IAQ equipment) and budget-conscious approach to maintenance:

  • Annual cost: $189
  • Biannual tune-ups for one heating and one cooling system
  • 10% labor discount on additional repair work
  • 10% parts discount
  • Priority dispatch tier 1 (ahead of non-members, behind Plus and Premier members during peak demand)
  • No overtime charge on emergency calls
  • Filter delivery at filter cost only (no delivery fee; filters at cost)
  • Equipment service history maintenance

Plus Tier — The Recommended Standard

The Plus tier is appropriate for most Cache Valley homeowners with typical HVAC equipment and IAQ equipment in service:

  • Annual cost: $289
  • Biannual tune-ups for one heating and one cooling system PLUS any installed IAQ equipment (humidifier, dehumidifier, air purifier, UV-C system)
  • 15% labor discount on additional repair work
  • 12% parts discount
  • Priority dispatch tier 2 (ahead of Standard members during peak demand)
  • No overtime charge on emergency calls
  • Filter delivery included at no charge for standard filter sizes (oversized or specialty filters at incremental cost)
  • Annual IAQ component review with documented assessment
  • One free trip charge waiver per year (one service call where the standard trip charge would otherwise apply is waived)
  • Equipment service history maintenance

Premier Tier — Comprehensive Coverage

The Premier tier is designed for larger homes, complex multi-system installations, premium equipment, or homeowners who want comprehensive maintenance coverage:

  • Annual cost: $489
  • Biannual tune-ups for up to two heating systems and two cooling systems (multi-zone homes, dual-system homes); all installed IAQ equipment included
  • 20% labor discount on additional repair work
  • 15% parts discount
  • Priority dispatch tier 3 (highest priority among Comfort Club tiers)
  • No overtime charge on emergency calls
  • Filter delivery included at no charge for all filter sizes including specialty
  • Annual humidifier media replacement included (Aprilaire bypass/power humidifier pad)
  • Annual UV-C bulb replacement included (one bulb per year)
  • Two free trip charge waivers per year
  • Equipment service history maintenance with formal annual summary
  • 10% discount on equipment replacement (if a furnace or AC needs replacement during plan membership)
  • Priority scheduling on equipment installation projects

Multi-Home and Rental Property Pricing

For homeowners with multiple properties or rental property owners with multiple units under management:

  • Second home or property: 15% discount on the second plan; both at Standard, Plus, or Premier tier
  • Third+ properties: 20% discount per plan on properties 3 and beyond
  • Rental property volume: custom pricing for portfolios of 5+ rental units; contact office for quoting
  • Commercial maintenance contracts are separate from residential Comfort Club; see the commercial service contract page for commercial scope

What Comfort Club Doesn’t Cover

Honest disclosure of what the plan does NOT include, so homeowner expectations are calibrated correctly:

  • Major component replacement — compressors, heat exchangers, control boards, gas valves, and similar major components are NOT covered. The plan provides discounts on the repair work but not parts cost beyond the parts discount percentage.
  • Equipment replacement — complete furnace or AC replacement is NOT included; Premier tier provides 10% equipment discount, but the full installation cost is the homeowner’s responsibility.
  • Damage from external causes — equipment damaged by lightning, flooding, rodent intrusion, vandalism, or other external events; repair work follows standard pricing rather than plan-discounted pricing.
  • Customer-modified equipment — equipment that the homeowner or non-Velox contractor has modified; we’ll service the equipment but may not honor manufacturer warranty if modifications void warranty.
  • Equipment past service life — we don’t accept Comfort Club enrollment on equipment that’s already past expected service life with documented failure mode; the plan isn’t designed to subsidize end-of-life equipment.
  • Insurance coverage — the plan isn’t a warranty or insurance product. For homeowners wanting comprehensive equipment failure coverage including parts and full repair cost, dedicated home warranty products (Cinch, American Home Shield, Choice Home Warranty) operate under different model. Velox can work with home warranty providers as the service provider on their dispatched calls, but the warranty product itself is separate from our maintenance plans.

How Enrollment Works

  1. Initial assessment — if you’re not already a Velox customer, we’ll schedule an initial visit to assess your equipment. The visit includes a tune-up at standard pricing (no plan pricing yet) and equipment evaluation. If your equipment is in serviceable condition, you’re welcome to enroll in any tier at that visit or later.
  2. Existing Velox customers — enrollment can happen any time. Most customers enroll at the conclusion of a service visit or during a tune-up where the plan benefits are obviously beneficial.
  3. Payment options — annual payment at enrollment ($189/$289/$489); monthly payment plan via credit card autopay ($17.50/$26.25/$43.75 monthly with 10–20% surcharge for monthly billing); some commercial property managers prefer biannual billing aligned with fiscal quarters.
  4. Plan year — runs 12 months from enrollment date; tune-ups scheduled at convenient times rather than fixed calendar dates.
  5. Renewal — automatic renewal at plan anniversary unless cancelled. Notification provided 30 days before renewal with any pricing changes for the upcoming year (we don’t increase pricing more than once per calendar year and provide advance notice of any increase).

Cancellation and Transfer

  • Cancellation — plans can be cancelled at any time. Pro-rated refund of unused months on annual-paid plans (less the cost of services already provided); monthly plans simply stop at the end of the current month.
  • Property sale transfer — plan can be transferred to a new homeowner if you sell the property; transfer is free of charge. Useful for property sales where the buyer values existing maintenance documentation.
  • Move-out transfer — if you’re moving within the Velox service area, the plan transfers to your new property without re-enrollment fee. Multi-home owners frequently use this to keep their existing relationship with us when they upgrade or downsize within Cache Valley.
  • Equipment replacement during plan year — if equipment is replaced during a plan year, the plan continues to cover the new equipment for the remainder of the plan year; Premier tier provides 10% equipment installation discount as additional value.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the Comfort Club actually save me compared to paying for services individually?
Depends on usage patterns. The baseline math: two tune-ups at the standard $129 each = $258; Standard tier at $189 = $69 savings before any repair work, even if no repairs occur during the year. Most homeowners experience at least one service call beyond the tune-ups during a typical year (cleaning a clogged condensate drain, replacing a capacitor, tightening a refrigerant connection, etc.); the labor discount on these service calls plus the waived overtime on after-hours calls typically adds another $50–$200 in savings. The realistic answer: Standard tier breaks even or saves $50–$200 annually for typical use; Plus tier saves $150–$450 annually; Premier tier saves $400–$1,200 annually for the larger homes the tier is designed for. The savings aren’t guaranteed; if equipment requires no service beyond tune-ups, the savings are smaller; if equipment has substantial repair activity, the savings are larger.
Is the Comfort Club worth it for newer equipment that’s under manufacturer warranty?
Yes, for the maintenance and documentation value even on warranty-covered equipment. The manufacturer warranty typically covers parts for 5–10 years but doesn’t cover labor (labor warranty is usually 1–2 years from installation). The Comfort Club discount on labor is meaningful when warranty-covered parts need installation by a technician. The biannual tune-ups also maintain warranty registration validity (most manufacturer warranties require documented annual professional maintenance to remain in force); skipping tune-ups can void warranty coverage on issues that occur during the warranty period. So even with strong manufacturer warranty coverage, the maintenance documentation alone often justifies plan enrollment. The plan becomes substantially more valuable after the manufacturer parts warranty expires.
What happens if I need a major repair that exceeds the plan’s scope?
The plan provides labor and parts discounts but doesn’t cover the full cost of major repairs. Compressor replacement on a 12-year-old AC, for example: $1,485–$2,485 typical cost. Plan provides 15–20% labor discount and 12–15% parts discount, reducing the cost by $185–$485 depending on tier. The homeowner still pays the substantial remainder. For coverage of major repair costs, dedicated home warranty products (Cinch, American Home Shield, Choice Home Warranty) operate as insurance against major component failure for a separate monthly fee; these products have their own coverage limits, deductibles, and service provider arrangements. Some homeowners use Comfort Club for ongoing maintenance plus home warranty for major component coverage. Other homeowners self-insure for major repairs (setting aside an emergency fund) and use Comfort Club for the routine maintenance value. Velox doesn’t recommend specific home warranty products but can discuss the trade-offs at consultation.
Can I share my Comfort Club plan with my neighbor or family member?
No, plans are tied to a specific property address. Each property requires its own plan enrollment. The multi-property pricing discount applies when one customer enrolls multiple properties owned by them, but the plan can’t be shared across properties owned by different people. The reasoning: maintenance schedules, equipment documentation, and service history are property-specific; the plan benefits are organized around the specific equipment at the enrolled address.
What if I don’t use all the tune-up visits in a plan year?
The tune-up visits don’t roll over to the next year; they’re intended to be used within the plan year. The intent is consistent maintenance; rolling over unused visits would defeat the purpose. We do our best to schedule visits at times convenient for the homeowner (we send reminders ahead of seasonal scheduling); homeowners who genuinely can’t accommodate visits during a plan year can sometimes negotiate make-up visits in the following plan year, but this is exception-handling rather than standard policy. The realistic situation: most homeowners welcome the seasonal tune-up scheduling because it produces meaningful equipment care; the “not using included services” issue is rare.
